Retirement World

Hello members and retired folks. This page is just now getting populated with information concerning retirement, specifically for our membership and generally for life after service. I'd like to see this page filled with information the new member can use to plan for their retirement, as well as for those getting closer and for those who've retired. Stories, struggles, ideas, questions this is where it'll all be. Hopefully in this manner we'll be able to have closer ties with both groups, and also the retired folks can use this to communicate amongst themselves. I have a partial list already of Retired folks that I will be computerizing and then sending out a welcome letter and planning a meeting with all those interested so that we can move forward with formulating some plans and ideas on how to proceed in making the retiree's active in our union and as a group themselves. Please email me at fireguy@clearwire.net with your questions, ideas, or locations of retired folks whom are interested in reconnecting and becoming active. Until then be safe!

L1296 Members,

KFD's first paid firefighter, Jim Billingsley, died January 7th at age 87.  The funeral service will held January 11 at Chapel of the Hills in Kennewick at 1300 hrs.  If you want to attend, Class A attire is appropriate.

Following the service, the casket will be loaded into the back of Old #1 (on the trailer), and transported by Brian Ellis to the cemetery at 10th and Union.  Brian is looking for another 1296 member who would want to accompany him, so if you're interested please contact Brian.

Thanks,
Andy
